Many enterprise representatives showed that this year's fair has special meanings and has become a platform where enterprises explore the economic trend. If any company finds the right market at the fair, its market expansion will become easier. These companies also believed that they could learn more about the next year's general situation by attending the fair and make preparations at an early time. Most Ningbo-based enterprises said that conditions are bit favorable for their foreign business. The business will become more difficult if enterprises do not have their independent brands. "Whether efforts should be made to develop independent brands depends on enterprises' own situations," said Xu Jinnan, vice president of Yongfa Group. Ningbo-based enterprises treasured the fair much to explore new markets and bag more orders. According to Dong Yuejun, general manager of Ningbo Smal Imp. & Exp. Co, Ltd, most enterprises have begun to take up market shares in the Middle East and Southeast Asia markets. Dong said that because demands for high-level heaters in the European and American markets have decreased, and that for medium- and low-level products have increased, it was a good opportunity for Smal to develop new market. Smal has dedicated more efforts on small household electric appliances at the fair. In addition, it will continue to expand its business in the Middle East and Southeast Asia markets. A member of Ningbo Trade Group said that although the world economic situation and national macro-economic situation are not in favor of Ningbo-based foreign trade enterprises in a short term, the situations are favorable for the transfer of the development pattern of Ningbo's open economy. Ningbo could only benefit from product export if it would manage to hold onto its export market under the tight international economic situation, he said. The people's government of Ningbo has been paying attention to building their own brand products all the time. The Ningbo delegation has reserved more than 700 stands, 260 more than that of at the previous one. More than 110 export enterprises at or above the city level participated at the fair, greatly improving brand images and creating favorable conditions for economic growth. As the hometown of Chinese brands, Ningbo has been supporting enterprises to develop their brands and established a system with regard to brand evaluation, protection, promotion and support.
