Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan on Sunday urged "unremitting efforts" to promote sustainable development in Southeast Asia, noting that issues such as ecological conservation and climate changes concern the benefit of all the people in the region.
"China and countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) should promote practical cooperation in the fields of the environment and development and make unremitting efforts for sustainable development in Southeast Asia," said Zeng at the opening of the Fourth China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in the southern China city of Nanning.

The two sides should "increase exchanges and cooperation in technology and management experience for further development," he told Chinese and ASEAN officials and business leaders present at the summit.

Both sides should also continue exploring new fields for cooperation in economic and social development according to the new situation and new needs related to development in China and ASEAN countries, the vice premier said.

The participants in the four-day summit will discuss over two main topics on service trade and financial cooperation and trade and investment facilitation.
