| Preparations ready for Straits Travel Fair |

The 3rd Straits Travel Fair will be held with the 11th CIFIT at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center on Sept 6-11. According to the sources with Organizing Committee of the 3rd Straits Travel Fair, preparations for the event are ready. This year's fair will highlight Cross-Straits features, to provide more collaboration opportunities for its participants. So far, up to 500 organizations have confirmed participation in the fair, bringing with them 213 projects seeking for a total investment of nearly two billion US dollars. 27 of them are expected to sign cooperation agreement during the event, involving a contractual volume of 6.6 billion yuan, or 850 million US dollars. The Exhibition for Tourism Resources will display 15 tourism products, more than it has been scheduled. Now the arrangement of the layout of the exhibition hall is going on smoothly. Compared with its previous sessions, participants in this year's event have been extended to more countries and regions, including businessmen and representatives of established travel agencies from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan as well as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asian and European countries and regions. In the meantime, the expo has for the first time added the Cross-Straits Tourism Exchange Association as one of its organizers and some tourism institutions from Jinmen, Mazu and Penghu Island as its sponsors. So the expo is expected to have more participants from tourism agencies from Taiwan, highlighting this year's cross-Straits features. |
