The 11th China International Fair for Investment & Trade, or CIFIT, will kick off in just two weeks. At a meeting held last Thursday, the Organizing Committee said the coming fair will be different from the previous ones with higher efficiency, higher flexiblility, and more investment projects, especially big ones. At the meeting, Mayor of Xiamen Liu Cigui, who is also deputy director of CIFIT's Organizing Committee, said, this year, Hong Kong, Macao and China Communications and Transportation Association have been members of the fair. By far, the members of CIFIT have risen to 52. According to the organizing committee, more projects have registered for matchmaking, including about 40,000 domestic projects and 1800 overseas projects, an increase of 15,000 and 160 respectively. Most of the projects are in the fields of infrastructure, tourism, modern agriculture, real estate, finance, processing and manufacturing. Up to now, over 120 overseas investors and 80 domestic ones have registered for project matchmaking. And an exhibition section for imported goods is set up for the first time. Overseas businessmen will also be invited to the fair. So far, over 317 overseas delegations including the State of Illinois of the US, British-Chinese Trade Association, Australian International Chamber of Commerce and German Chamber of Industry and Commerce have applied for the participation. |
