| Four highlights in this year's CIFIT |

A press conference on the 11th China International Fair for Investment and Trade was held in Beijing on Monday. It was announced at the conference that the theme of this year's CIFIT would still be "introducing foreign investment and bringing domestic enterprises to foreign markets." Mr. Chen Jian, assistant to director of Ministry of Commerce, and Mr. Ye Shuangyu, vice governor of Fujian, briefed the media on the preparation and the four highlights of this year's fair. The first of these four highlights would be a broader participation of international organizations, such as United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies. The second highlight would be an increase of high-profile activities and conferences. Among them would be the Second China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum jointly held by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, which would include the second Sino-Caribbean Ministers' Meeting, seminars on agricultural and fishing cooperation, and tourism cooperation. The third highlight would be an improved two-way investment channel. This year's fair would include project matchmaking symposiums for service outsourcing project, new transportation projects, and investment projects for China, Singapore, and Indonesia. The last highlight would be a stronger focus on Taiwan-mainland cooperation. |
