Most people do not have the habit of unplugging after turn off their appliances, and this “laziness” comes with an extra cost of RMB60 for each household in a year across the country. Various standby functions, while providing convenience for the users, also use extra electricity. A series of energy efficient sockets called the “Little Housekeepers” exhibited at this year’s CHITEC can reduce the standby power consumption of appliances to zero, thus reducing total power consumption by 10%-40%. They can reduce power consumption not only at standby state, but also during use—through an intelligent chip. |
