Announcement No.33, 2007 of the General Administration of Customs, of the People's Republic of China

Approved by the State Council, here grants zero-tariff treatment to the second batch of commodities from the least developed nations of Africa as from Jul 1, 2007. Related issues are now announced as follows:

1. Grant zero-tariff preferential tax treatment to imported commodities under 254 8-digit tax item from 26 African countries (please refer appendix for details).
Including: the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of Bennin, the Republic of Burundi, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of Togo, Eritrea, the Republic of Cape Verde, the Republic of Djibouti, the Republic of Guinea, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Liberia, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of Madagascar, the Republic of Mali, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Niger, the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Republic of Sudan, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Uganda, the Republic of Zambia, the Republic of Chad and the Somali Republic.
2.The Republic of Chad and the Somali Republic enjoy zero-tariff preferential tax treatment for the first batch of commodities from the least developed countries of Africa at the same time with approval of the State Council; please refer Announcement No.75 Appendix 7, 2006 of the General Administration of Customs for specific commodity scope.
3. When importing commodities that enjoy preferential tax treatment from Africa, importers shall fill declaration form in line with “specific requirements on filling when the origin certificate network administration is not adopted”. The code of preferential trade agreement shall be “05”.
4. This announcement shall take effect as from Jul 1, 2007.
