General Administration of Customs: The adjustment of the provisional tax on some import & export commodities has been confirmed at the 9th plenary conference of the Tariff Commission of the State Council and approved by the State Council. Related issues are now announced as follows: 1. To adjust provisional tax on some import commodities (1). to impose provisional import tax rate of 0-3% on 7 items of resource products category, including coal, cork and fuel oil. (2). to impose provisional import tax rate of 2-6% on 62 items of replaceable parts such as drainage pump, sealing element, parts for bearing and valve, compressor and parts for air-condition and refrigerator, engineering machinery parts, camera parts and television parts etc.. (2). to impose provisional import tax rate of 6-17% on 140 items of household goods such as baby food, cooker, dishware, food processor, correcting lens, construct material, pottery and porcelain for decoration and household appliances etc. The above-mentioned 3 categories cover 209 tax items, 5 of which only concern part of commodities in the item (refer to Appendix 1). 2. To adjust provisional tax on some export commodities (1). to impose provisional export tax rate of 5% on 53 items of steel products such as coiled material, plank stuff and steel wire and 5 items of resource products such asammonium metatungstate, magnesite and burned magnesia. (2). to impose provisional export tax rate of 10% on 30 items of steel products such as angle bar and 21 items of products such coal tar, native graphite, rare earth metal, refined lead, dysprosium oxide, terbia, unwrought zinc, and some nonferrous metal waste &scrap (3). to impose provisional export tax rate of 15% on 33 items of crude ores with rare metals such as coke, billet, steel ingot, pig iron, some ferroalloy, fluorite, non needle leave wood spill, nickel, chrome, tungsten, manganese and rare earth metal The above-mentioned 3 categories cover 142 tax items (refer to Appendix 2). 3.
