| In accordance with relevant terms in Agreement on Textile and Clothing of WTO, quotas on textiles from China are set to disappear as of January 1, 2005 by the countries that conducted the trade restrictions.
Matters of concern are listed as follows: 1, From January 1, 2005, EU, US, Canada and Turkey shall completely abolish the quotas on textiles from China. (For details, see the appendix) 2, Chinese textiles listed in the appendix, which reach the original countries with restrictions as of January 1, 2005, shall not be conducted Quota License management; for those reach the original countries with restrictions before January 1, 2005, relevant Quota Licenses are still compulsory. 3, For the Chinese textiles listed in the appendix, which reach EU member countries and Turkey as of January 1, 2005, the exporters shall still provide appropriative Certificate of Origin for textiles. The exports and operators shall apply Certificate of Origin for textiles and silk-linen fabrics exported to EU and Turkey, which the above-mentioned countries will checkout. 4, In view of Quota License management will not terminate until January 1, 2005, all the relevant license issuing and electronic data transmitting institutions, authorized by Ministry of Commerce, shall continue their routine work till March 31, 2005.
