 With the theme of Developing Brands, Spreading Culture and Promoting Cooperation, the 3rd Yantai International Wine Festival opened on September 23. Sang Guowei, Vice Chairman of NPC Standing Committee, Wen Fujiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shandong Province, Cai Limin, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, Yves Bénard, the President of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), attended the opening ceremony. Vice Governor Cai Limin said when addressing the opening ceremony that Yantai is well-known for wine and enjoys a good reputation both at home and abroad. The Yantai International Wine Festival provides an important platform to expand the exchange and cooperation between Shandong and world wine industries, and creates opportunities for all countries in wine production, wine culture promotion and wine trade. When Western and Eastern wine cultures collide and blend in this beautiful coastal city of Yantai, new fragrance is sure to be brewed. This Wine Festival is sponsored by OIV, China Alcoholic Drinks Industry Association, China National Association for Liquor Circulation and Shandong Provincial Government, and organized by Yantai Municipal Government. The Festival activities include Exhibition, Forum on International Wine Industry Development, Trade and Economic Negotiations for Wine Enterprises, Sightseeing and tour to Wine Enterprises, and other professional and entertainment activities. Over 500 booths were set up, and over 50,000 domestic and foreign wine business delegates participated in the festival, including 2,300 overseas delegates. During the Festival, the 2nd Yantai Overseas Advisor Engagement Ceremony & Promotion Conference on Yantai Business Climate and Major Investment Projects, Yantai Signing Ceremony of Major Invested Projects, and Chinese and Foreign Wine Enterprises Theme Days, etc. were held. Vice Governor Cai Limin met with OIV President Bénard and Ning Gaoning, Chairman of COFCO. Lv Zaimo, director of Shandong Provincial Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and other officials from provincial departments and Yantai government accompanied and attended the said activities. |
