 The third-round China-Chile FTA Talks on Investment was held in Santiago, capital city of Chile, from June 22 to 24. China and Chile held consultations on major clauses of the draft investment agreement, and reached consensus in principle. China-Chile FTA, covering mainly goods trade and cooperation, was signed in November 2005, and entered into effect as of October 2006. Positive effect can be seen since its enforcement, bilateral trade rapidly going up. In April 2008, China and Chile signed China-Chile FTA Supplement Agreement on Service Trade, or China-Chile FTA Service Trade Agreement. When ratification procedure completed, the Agreement is likely to take effect this year. |
