| Wang Qishan Presided Over the Economic and Commercial Counsellor Symposium |

On July 18, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice-Premier of the State Council Wang Qishan presided over the Economic and Commercial Counselors symposium in Zhongnanhai. After listened to the speeches by the Commercial Counselors to Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Brazil, the United States and the European Union, he stressed that the Commercial Counselor shall, at a new starting point, enhance the services and management level comprehensively and do a better job in the foreign economic and trade work. Wang Qishan pointed out that since the Reform and Opening-up 30 years ago, China has made great achievements in its modernization, especially since China joined the World Trade Organization, the mutual influence between China and the world economy is rising. As the first line of the economic and diplomatic work, the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office have done a lot of work and made very great achievements, and shall continue to make efforts in servicing the overall diplomatic layout of the central government, the building of international economic environment which benefit domestic development, the making good use of domestic and international markets and resources, the speeding up of the transformation of foreign trade development mode and the bilateral trade and business investment. Wang Qishan stressed that in the current complicated international and domestic situation, the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office shall study new situations, solve new problems, seize the opportunities brought by economic globalization and deal with all kinds of challenges and risks effectively, at the same time shall positively promote the economic and trade cooperation between China and the host country and firmly maintain China's economic and diplomatic benefit. Wang Qishan requested that the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office shall have an in-depth understanding of the country's political, economic, cultural, and social circumstances, complete the foundation work, strengthen the information collection, processing and handling, and handle the relationship between management and service well. |
