Edible Farm Produce Price Falls Slightly

According to the monitoring results of MOFCOM, there was a slight rise in the price of agricultural products due to an increase in consumption demand and some other factors. Last week (From June 2 to 8), the farm produce price monitored in 36 large- and medium-sized cities increased by 0.7% as compared with that in the previous week. Among the 58 main types of agricultural products, 36 saw the price rise, accounting for 62.1% of the total;5 remained unchanged, 8.6%; and 17 fell, 29.3%. Specifically, the edible oil price eased slightly, among which, the soybean oil and peanut oil dropped 0.2% and 0.04% respectively while the rapeseed oil rose by 0.1%. The meat price saw both rise and fall. Among which, the wholesale price of pork dropped 0.3% while beef and lamb rose by 0.8% and 0.2% respectively. The grain price leveled off while the egg price rose slightly. The vegetable price rose by 2.0%. Out of the 20 main categories of vegetables monitored, 12 saw a price rise;7 saw a decrease and 1 remained unchanged. The strong demand during the festival drove the aquatic products to rise by 2.2%.
