| Transnational Retail Enterprises Donated to Disaster-hit Areas in Succession |

After the earthquake of Wenchuan county,Sichuan Province, transnational retail enterprises investing in China were much concerned about the disaster situation and donated money successively to support anti-disaster and relief. Up to now, Groupe Auchan, Tesco and METRO all have expressed that they will donate EUR500,000, RMB2m and EUR100,000 respectively. And the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) will proactively coordinate and send donations above to disaster-hit areas as soon as possible. In addition, it was known that Carrefour would contribute RMB2m through Red Cross Society of China and Chengdu branch of Groupe Auchan donated RMB3m by way of local government. |
