A spokesman from MOFCOM addressed that MOFCOM had made the emergency plan for ensuring market supply. He said our country had the ability to ensure the stability of market supply in disaster-hit areas.

On May 15, a spokesman from MOFCOM addressed that after the strong earthquake happened in Wenchuan Sichuan, MOFCOM immediately started the emergency plan to organize products and necessities for producing and life that were badly needed as well as plenty of emergency and relief goods, which are now sent to disaster-hit areas in succession. MOFCOM strengthened the supervision for national market operation. Based on the present situation, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu badly need necessities such as convenient foods, drinking water and illumination due to the effect of the earthquake while all sorts of necessities are fully supplied in other areas and markets are stable. As the transportation resumed normality, in disaster-hit areas markets related to goods will go a normal way again.
