Transnational Retail Businesses Make Donations to the Disaster Area

After the earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, some transnational retail businesses in China concerned much about the disaster and donated money to support the disaster relief. Up until now, French Auchan Group, British Tesco and Metro Group of Germany expressed to donate 500,000 euros, 2 million yuan and 100,000 euros respectively. MOFCOM shall actively coordinate the delivery of the donations to the disaster areas as soon as possible. In addition, the French Carrefour Group has donated 2 million yuan through China Red Cross Society to the disaster areas; Auchan Group of Chengdu has donated 3 million yuan through the local government.
