| China-Slovakia Trade Surged Markedly in 2007 |

According to the statistics released by the Slovakian Statistics on March 13, the total China-Slovakia trade value hit US$3.46 billion, up by 44.6%, out of which China’s export to Slovakia increased by 46.2% to US$3.02 billion, or 5.2% of Slovakia’s total import; China’s import from Slovakia reached US$440 million, a surge of 67.6%, or 0.8% of Slovakia’s total export; Slovakia’s trade deficit with China expanded to US$2.58 billion, and China ranked Slovakia’s third largest trade deficit source country. The total trade value of Slovakia and Taiwan reached US$1.38 billion in 2007, up by 35.7%. Among which Taiwan’s export to Slovak hit US$1.35 billion, up by 37.6%, or 2.3% of Slovakia’s total import; Taiwan’s import from Slovakia hit US$34 million, up by 3.4%, or 0.1% of Slovakia’s total export; and.Slovakia’s trade deficit hit US$ 1.32 billion with Taiwan, which ranked Slovakia’s fourth largest trade deficit source region. |
