| From:Department of Information Technology Article type:Original |
Ministry of Commerce Spokesman Wang Xinpei expressed regrets on the US’s request to WTO to set up a Dispute Settlement panel for the IPR disputes between China and US. Chinese government attaches great importance to Intellectual Property Rights protection, and always keeps to dialogue as the means of settling dispute. In the recent case, China has shown great sincerity by making detailed clarification on the problems raised by the US. China considers its IP-related legislation fully in compliance with the requirements of TRIPS, and strongly objects to any attempts to add extra obligations to the developing countries through WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism. As to the request raised by the US, China will seriously study it and make positive responses according to related WTO rules. |
