Tian Lipu said that the conference provided China with a precious opportunity to have a better understanding of the intellectual property rights system of Singapore and other ASEAN countries, and that it would surely further strengthen the cooperation between China and Singapore as well as other ASEAN countries in the field of intellectual property, and it would create favorable conditions for all countries to improve and develop their intellectual property systems in a harmonious way so as to construct a better environment for regional investment.

Tian Lipu stated that China would continue to play an active role in boosting communication and cooperation with ASEAN countries on intellectual property rights and improving regional cooperation on intellectual property rights in Asia via seminars, personnel trainings, shares of information resources, etc.

Singaporean Minister of Law and Home Affairs Ho Peng Kee stated at the conference that Chinese enterprises should strengthen their intellectual property rights protection in overseas markets and speed up their patent applications in major overseas markets to further enhance their international competitiveness.
