From January to April this year, 12,349 new foreign-invested enterprises were established. With these newly set up enterprises, there was still a 2.29% decline over same period last year while China's foreign investment in actual use amounted to 20.359 bn USD and realized a 10.17% year on year increase . In April, 3,052 new foreign-invested enterprises were established in China, which declined by 18.18% over same period last year. Foreign investment in actual use reached 4.466 bn USD, which was increased by 5.49% year on year. During the same time period, the number of new U.S.-invested enterprises in China decreased by 11.93% while its actual foreign investment rose by 4.19% over same period last year. The number of newly-set up enterprises invested by the former EU-15 dropped by 8.47% than last April, and its actual foreign investment also saw a 39.18% decline over same period last year. From January to April this year, the top ten countries/regions for investment in China (by actual foreign investment volume) are: Hong Kong (6.536 bn USD), the British Virgin Islands (4.711 bn USD), Japan (1.337 bn USD), ROK (1.061 bn USD), Singapore (928 mn USD), U.S. (872 mn USD), Cayman Islands (733 mn USD), Samoa (538 mn USD), Taiwan (448 mn USD), Mauritius (3.55 mn USD). Total amount of actual foreign investment from the top ten countries/regions accounted for 86.05% of China’s foreign investment in actual use.
