| China's Trade Surplus with Brazil Exceeds 500 Million USD in 1st Quarter of 2007 |

According to the latest statistics released by Foreign Trade Bureau of Brazil, during the first quarter of 2007, Sino-Brazilian trade continued to increase at a high rate, amounting to 4.348 bn USD, a 36.8% increase year on year. Brazil’s import and export volume with China reached 2.436 bn and 1.912 bn USD respectively, went up by 50.3% and 22.7% over the first quarter of 2006. China’s trade surplus with Brazil soared from 62 mn USD in 2005 to 524 mn USD during the first three months of 2007. From January to March, Brazil’s main export products were iron ore Fe, soybean, crude oil, wood pulp, refined copper, etc. Brazil’s major import products from China were telecommunication equipments, magnifier (LCD), coke, digital camera, hard disc drive, knitted fabric and so on.
