| MOFCOM Spokesman Chong Quan Comments on Adoption of EU's Anti-dumping on Chinese Footwear |

On Oct 5, MOFCOM spokesman Chong Quan commented on adoption of EU's anti-dumping on Chinese footwear. Chong said China noticed that EU changed period of anti-dumping measures from 5 years generally to 2 years and final determination on tariff rate reduces comparing with initial tariff rate. But Chinese enterprise and industrial community was dissatisfied with the approval of anti-dumping duties on Chinese footwear by EU. Chong said, China considered that there were many legal defects which against WTO regulation and EU Anti-dumping Law during its registering, investigating and determination. EU anti-dumping measures against Chinese footwear lacked legal and factual basis and damaged the legitimate rights of Chinese footwear enterprises. China would monitor and assess the situation of further development, and reserve the right to take responsive measures. (Source: Network Center of MOFCOM) |
