MOFCOM Spokesman Shen Danyang Comments on the Report of U.S. Congress on Huawei and ZTE

U.S. House Intelligence Committee announced the report on October 8 that China Huawei and ZTE Cooperation were threatening the national security of the United States and suggested to prevent the two companies to carry out investment and trade activities in the United States.

MOFCOM Spokesman Shen Danyang said that the report released by the U.S. House Intelligence Committee was made by suspicion and false basis. China was accused of threatening the national security of the U.S. as well as Chinese enterprises were repelled to carry out normal operations or participate in legitimate competition in the U.S. Chinese side expressed its concern and strong opposition.

MOFCOM Spokesman Shen Danyang said that the behavior of the U.S. Congress is contrary to the free market rules the United States has consistently advocated, and e not conducive to the enterprises both in China and the United States to develop each other’s new markets and expand cooperation. China hoped that the U.S. Congress could abandon the practice of discrimination against Chinese companies, adhere to the principle of openness and cooperation, and effectively create a fair and equitable market environment for the enterprises of the two countries to conduct trade and investment activities so as to promote the smooth development of Sino-US bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
