| Chinese-invested Companies and Chinese Commercial Enterprises in Chile Proactively Donated to Sichuan Disaster-Stricken Areas |

On May 12, 2008, a strong earthquake of the Richter scale of 7.8 hit Wenchuan Sichuan and other places of China, which caused inestimable loss of lives and properties for people in disaster-hit areas. The death toll presently has exceeded 32000, and some villages and towns are leveled off. The number of casualty and properties are on the rise. Though Chinese-invested institutes and Chinese businesspeople in Chile are far away China, they are much concerned about the motherland. When disaster strikes, help comes from all sides. In only two days from May13 to 14, our office had received the donations standing at USD23955 from Chinese-invested institutes and Chinese businesspeople at all levels. Among them, the donations of USD15000 are from Minera Catania Verde and its staff, and Gao Wang Mining Group Co., Ltd contributed USD2105, and COSO CHILE.S.A, Chile Orient Travel Co., Ltd, HUNG CHAN TOUR, EASTCOM (Chile), American Branch of Shandong DAHAI Group respectively donated USD1000. ChinaLight SouthAmercian Representative Office, work team of China Development Band in Chile, Tongguan Qianshi Investment Co., Ltd., JinCheng (Chile) Co., Ltd., YTO Group Corporation, Shenyang Machinery Co., Ltd., and Centro Asiatico-Chileno de Comercio Asesorias Ltda, as well as their staff all actively contributed. Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Chile) and ZTE (Chile) donated via their domestic headquarters. On May 15, our office had mailed all the donations to the country to help quake relief as soon as possible. |
