KABUL -- The first ever Chinese chamber of commerce in Afghanistan was inaugurated in the capital city Kabul on Monday, aimed at smoothing Chinese businessmen's activities in this war-torn country. The inauguration ceremony of the Association for Chinese Businessmen in Afghanistan (ACBA) was held in locally well-known Serena hotel with about 200 participants. The ACBA includes about 400 members from nearly 20 private Chinese companies here, which are engaged in trade, construction, advertisement and other industries. ACBA President Wang Wenjie said the establishment of the association is aimed at boosting relations and cooperation among Chinese businessmen in Afghanistan, and helping the businessmen better deal with Afghan authorities and commercial organizations. After the U.S.-led Afghan War in late 2001, the Chinese government has played a constructive role in Afghanistan's reconstruction, and hundreds of Chinese businessmen nowadays are busily engaged in commercial activities in this country. |
