| Establishment of German Lanxess Polymer Materials R&D Center in Qiangdao |

Lanxess Group is an independent operation company, established by integrating the Department of Chemicals and part of Polymer Materials Business Department of German Bayer Group in July of 2004. And Lanxess was the worldwide largest synthetic rubber production manufacturer, with global leading position in such fields as engineering plastics and synthetic rubber. Lanxess has established its development targets in China: to set up world-class production base and produce high-tech products; and to build a R&D center by reliance on the localized talents and local self-innovation capability. Recently, the Polymer Materials R&D Center has been founded, a cooperation project between the company and Qingdao Science and Technology University. This center mainly carries out R&D on rubber and plastics high-end products. Recently, two parties had invested approx. USD8m in such fixed assets as experimental site and equipment. |
