Nokia Won USD2.5b Cell Phone Order in China

Nokia announced recently that they had signed a cell phone supply contract of USD2.5b with China PTAC, which was the largest cell phone supply order in the company’s history.
It was known that China Postel Company, under China P&T Appliances and Nokia (China) Investment Ltd. signed a cell phone procurement and strategic cooperation agreement on May 11. Based on this agreement, China Postel Company will purchase USD2.5b of cell phones from Nokia in 2007. The ordered cell phone quantity will exceed 20m. As revealed by Nokia, this USD2.5b contract had covered the whole year of 2007, including the already shipped cell phones in the previous four months. Given the high efficient sales system, Nokia has got quite an advantageous position in such emerging markets as China and India.
