ZTE Signs 1.5 Bln USD Loan Deal with Ethiopian Telecoms

ZTE Corp, one of China's biggest telecoms equipment providers, signed a 1.5 bln usd loan deal with Ethiopian Telecommunications Corp (ETC) in November for the upgrading of its telephone network, the online version of Ethiopian newpaper, Capital, reported.

The report said the deal was struck at the Sino-Africa forum held in China last year.

Last September, ETC signed a memorandum of understanding with ZTE Corp, Huawei Technologies Co and Chinese International Telecommunication Construction Corporation, to undertake expansion projects worth 2.4 bln usd, effective for four years.
