| Trade in High-Tech Products of Shanxi hit Surplus for the first Time |

According to statistics by Department of Commerce of Shanxi, foreign trade of high-tech products of Shanxi amounted to USD248 million. Export grew 160.9% year on year to USD143 million; import totaled USD105 million, down by 31.37% year on year. Shanxi's foreign trade of high-tech products hit surplus for the first time in the first nine months. In the first nine months this year, exported high-tech products of Shanxi were mainly computer parts and cell phone parts. Shanxi's high-tech products already reach a certain level, but there are no known brands in this field. The main reason of falling of high-tech product import was that most high-tech products that were needed by enterprises of Shanxi could be bought within China or even Shanxi itself. In the first nine months, high-tech products imported by state-owned enterprises amounted to USD48.9 million, accounting for about a half of the provincial total import of high-tech products, down by about 60% year on year. High-tech products imported by foreign-funded enterprises totaled USD39.44 million, about 40% of the provincial total import of high-tech products. High-tech products imported by private enterprises amounted to USD11.5 million, about 10% of he provincial total import of high-tech products. (Network Center of MOFCOM) |
