Chinese vice premier meets Sony chairman

BEIJING, Oct. 31-- Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi met here Tuesday with Howard Stringer, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Sony Corp.

Wu expressed her appreciation on Sony's developing business in China and active involvement in China's welfare.

She said Sony has invested one billion U.S. dollars and provide 25,000 jobs in China.

"I believe that along with the development of China, Sony will have a brighter future in Chinese market and gain greater achievement."

Stringer said Sony will continue to invest in China and will try its best to be one family member of China and a responsible one.

Stringer is here at the invitation of China Association for International Friendly Contacts.
