| Actual Use of Foreign Investment of Shanxi up by 157.8% in the First 9 Months |

According to statistics from Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the Province totally approved 103 foreign investment enterprises in the first 9 months, up by 71.67% compared with the same period of last year. In 2004, number of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan investment enterprises and foreign investment enterprises in Shanxi was remarkably lower than the national average. But the Province sped up its opening up to the outside in 2006, according to statistics, in Jan. through Sept. in 2006, the actual use of foreign investment of Shanxi reached US$330 million, up by 157.8% on a year-on-year basis, and the increase rate of FDI kept ahead among provinces in central China.
