HONG KONG, Oct. 18 -- The Electrical and Mechanical Services Trading Fund gained a total revenue of 3.189 billion HK dollars (400 million U.S. dollars) last year, according to a report seen on the Hong Kong government website on Wednesday.

The total revenue represents a 10.3 percent yield.

The Trading Fund's General Manager and Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services Lai Sze-hoi said the key achievement of the year was winning of the gold prize in the 2006 Hong Kong Management Association Quality Award, fulfilling a pledge in the Government's Policy Agenda for 2005-06.

Hong Kong successfully held the WTO Ministerial Conference last December. As project manager for all the information and communication technology systems and facilities at the conference, the fund served thousands of international delegates well.

Lai said the fund has built up a solid framework for continuous improvement.

New contracts were secured during the year mainly due to increased client activities in an economic upswing. Most service level agreements had been renewed, some at much longer durations than before, he added.
