| Increase Rate of Jiangsu's Foreign Trade Ranked Continuously in the First Place in Coast Region in Jan. through Jul. |

In Jan. through Jul., Jiangsu province has imported and exported US$ 122.4 billion, up by 33.9% on a year-on-year basis, of which 65.29 billions were export, and 57.1 billions were import, up by 44.3% and 23.7% respectively. Total amount of import and export of the province remained in the second place nationwidely, and the increase rate ranked in the first place in coast region. Despite increasing trade frictions after entering WTO transition period, Jiangsu is experiencing a sustained powerful increase in foreign trade, and one important reason for that lies in processing trade. Statistics show that the total amount of processing trade of the province reached US$ 77.21 billion, up by 40.9%, accounting for 63.1% of Jiangsu's foreign trade. Machinery and electronic, and high-tech products are the main export products, export of textiles and costume increased by a percentage of about thirty as well. Operators in processing trade are mainly foreign-invested enterprises, which imported and exported US$ 97.91 billion in the first 7 months, up by 36%, accounting for 80% of the province's foreign trade.
