| Growth Rate of Hi-tech Industry in Jiangsu Province Hit a New High |

It is said that in the first half year, output value of hi-tech industry in Jiangsu province amounted to RMB334.51 billion, sales revenue RMB135.95 billion and value of export delivery RMB15.95 billion, up by 28.61%, 30.28% and 4.7% respectively compared with the same period of last year, hitting a new high. It is said that in the hi-tech industry of Jiangsu, output value of aero-space industry amounted to RMB1.666 billion, of computers and office equipments RMB64.475 billion and of electronic and telecommunications equipments RMB110.243 billion. Of which electronic and telecommunications equipments kept the place of No.1 in hi-tech industry in Jiangsu, and new material ranked No.2, which was newly listed in the statistics survey in 2004. 5 Southern cities in Jiangsu occupied the leading position in hi-tech industry and output value of them reached RMB279.653 billion, accounting for 81.65%. Meanwhile, 3 central cities and 5 northern cities grew rapidly in hi-tech industry, output value of them in the first half year hit RMB48.443 billion and RMB14.404 billion respectively, accounting for 14.14% and 4.21% and up by 4.09% and 1.37 respectively.
