| Zhangzhou’s Export Growth Rate in the First Half of 2004 Ranked Top in Fujian |

In the first half of 2004, exports in Zhangzhou maintain strong momentum of increase. According to customs statistics, exports in Jan. through June 2004 are US$ 0.89 billion, US$0.45 billion more than this time last year, up by 102%, ranking first in Fujian. The increase in export by FDI enterprises, State-Owned enterprises, Collective enterprises and private enterprises mainly contributed to good achievement in Zhangzhou’s exports in the first half of 2004. Of which, three kinds of foreign-invested enterprises (Sino-foreign joint ventures, cooperative businesses and exclusively foreign-owned enterprises) are the main force of Zhangzhou’s export, and US$0.741 billion exports were from 456 enterprises in Jan. through June, accounting for 83%, up by 1.29 times.
