Prices for foodstuff and edible oil are on big rise due to the impact of main internal environment since National Day of 2003.The average growth rate of rice wholesale price is 25.6%, and 26.3% in retail price. The growth rates of wholesale prices for flour and bean salad oil are 22.6% and 16.3%, while 13.6% and 18% growth in retail price respectively. The price rise of foodstuff and edible oil drives up consumer price, and consumer price index in Jan. through April in Xiamen was 102.5%, a record high in the last five years.
