| Construction of New Shanghai International Exhibition Center Started ahead of schedule |

| On 19th May, construction of No. 6 and 7 exhibition hall of New Shanghai International Exhibition Center started one month ahead of scheduled. It would be completed in Feb. 2004 and commissioned to service on 1st Mar. 2004. SARS brought great impact on exhibition industry of Shanghai, but the Sino-German investors decided to start construction and add 2 new halls in current severe situation. The new Center increased its exhibition halls from 5 to 7 and total area to 80.5 thousand square meters, meanwhile, the number of exhibition booths would increased 40%. It would strengthen the international competitiveness of exhibition industry in Shanghai. (Information by Commissioner's Office in Shanghai) |
