| News from relevant departments say that the related enterprises of the European Union (EU) have lately withdrawn the anti-dumping action to China's granite export. The EU has made a formal decision that the inspection of this case has been brought to an end and China has no need to pay anti-dumping taxes, indicating that China has stood out a complete winner in the granite anti-dumping action. As reported, this case was formally placed on file on November 11, 2000 for the investigation of China's granite export to EU. Granite is one of China's major export goods to the EU as building materials. In recent years, China has made a sharp increase in granite export to the EU, with an estimated value of some 40 million US dollars in the investigation period. The China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals organized the enterprises concerned to answer for the action immediately on hearing the news. With assistance from the Chamber, the Chinese enterprises concerned accepted the investigation by the EU on February 2001. |
