Expo Central China 2006 2006 9.26-9.28 Changsha,China  As approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China,the Expo Central China is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce,State Administration of Taxation, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, State Administration for Radio, Film and Television, China National Tourism Administration, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the People’s Governments of Shanxi,Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan Provinces. The Expo Central China 2006 will be held on September 26th to 28th in Changsha,Hunan Province,China. The central region of China covers 6 provinces, namely Shanxi,Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hebei and Hunan, with a total area of 1.028 million square km and a population of 361 million. The central region lies in the inner heartland of China ,which gives it the geographical advantage of interlocking eastern China and western China ,and connecting the north with the south; it boasts abundant natural ,cultural and tourist resources as well as a good foundation of scientific research and education; it has a strong industrial background and a complete list of industrial sectors; it also enjoys good eco—environment and great capacity,and is an important base of agricultural produce,energy,raw materials and equipment manufacturing.The convening of the Expo will fully draw upon the good opportunity of expediting inter-regional flow and transfer of production factors and industries to establish an important platform for the central region of China to further its opening up,enhance international exchanges and cooperation,and jointly explore new development opportunities with foreign partners. The Expo will focus on trade in goods,investment promotion as well as tourism advertising,For the trade in goods part,advantage industries and high quality well-known commodities will be showcased; investment promotion will concentrate on publicizing investment climate of the central China as well as promoting communication and cooperation among enterprises: and tourism advertising is to exhibit and promote tourism resources,Various forums and seminars will be held during the Expo,which will invite domestic and foreign leaders in both political and economical sectors, experts and scholars to present speeches. |
