MOFCOM BJT
To your first question regarding the details of the principals’ conversation on the phone, as I said, I have no more to share with you for the time being. As for restrictions on Chinese companies such as Huawei, we’ve repeatedly laid down China’s position. It is hoped that the US will remove the restrictions and sanctions on Huawei, among other Chinese companies, for the healthy and steady development of China-US economic and trade relations.
Regarding your second question, the list of unreliable entities is going through due process and will be published soon. Let me emphasize that the list is aimed at a small number of entities and individuals that break market rules and the contract spirit to embargo or cut off supplies to Chinese companies for non-commercial reasons to the detriment of the legitimate interests of Chinese companies. Law-abiding and compliant foreign-invested enterprises, which are in the majority, should have no cause for concern. Their normal operations will not be affected. The Chinese government will effectively protect the lawful rights and interests of all foreign-invested companies in China.
As for your third question, given MOFCOM’s responsibility for external economic and trade negotiations, it’s only normal for the Minister of Commerce to attend the high-level consultations. Thank you.
