MOFCOM BJT
Q: On June 8, EST, the U.S. Department of War added several Chinese companies to its list of alleged “Chinese military companies”. What is MOFCOM’s comment on this?
A: We have noted this development. China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this action.
Disregarding the consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries during their meeting in Beijing and ignoring the broader picture of China-U.S. economic and trade relations, the U.S. keeps overstretching the concept of national security, abuses state power, and imposes unwarranted suppression on Chinese companies. Such practices severely disrupt the international economic and trade order, seriously endanger the stability of global industrial and supply chains, and gravely harm the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of Chinese companies.
China urges the U.S. to immediately cease its wrongful acts, revoke the relevant measures without delay, return to the right track of building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability, and provide Chinese companies with fair, impartial, and non‑discriminatory treatment. Otherwise, China will take resolute and effective countermeasures, and all the consequences and responsibilities arising therefrom will be borne by the U.S. (Released on June 13)
