Q: The U.S. government spokesperson mentioned that China International Trade Representative Li Chenggang will visit Washington, D.C. this week. Can you confirm this?

A: China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce Li Chenggang led a delegation to visit Canada from August 24 to 27 and co-chair the China-Canada Joint Economic and Trade Committee meeting. Subsequently, the delegation will travel to Washington, D.C. for meetings with relevant U.S. officials.

The Chinese side stands ready to work with the U.S. to leverage the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanisms, resolve issues through equal dialogue and consultation, and maintain the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
